Prime’s ‘Life’s Rewards’ puts Pinellas back in the national spotlight • St Pete Catalyst

The Amazon Prime Series The rewards of life, a scripted comedy/drama filmed entirely in Pinellas County, is back for a second season.

The series’ eight new episodes premiered Friday on the streaming service.

Co-developed and produced by Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commission and Visit Florida, The rewards of life tells the fictional story of Jared – played by Florida actor Jared Wofford, who had a small role in Season 1 – and his food truck business, set against the backdrop of St. Petersburg, Clearwater and the beaches of the Gulf.

Along the way, the characters visit as many local attractions and hotspots as possible. In Episode 3, Jared takes his date Shevonne (played by Tampa musician Shevonne Philidor, whose music is featured on the program) to Duncan McClellan’s St. Pete Art Studio, where they create art. glass art in the Hot Shop.

“We’re always looking for new ways to tell our story,” said Steve Hayes, CEO of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater. Catalyst in 2021. “And one of them was ‘Is there a way to tell it through cinematography? Like a movie?’”
