Ruk Jaana Nahi. This is an initiative to recognize and remember the selfless superheroes who have risen up to help others in these difficult times. Every week, actor Rajkummar Rao meets ordinary people to share their extraordinary #StoriesOfHope, so that their contributions are not forgotten. These stories are published as interviews on a new podcast and video series hosted by Rajkummar.
This evocative and emotional poem written by Swanand Kirkire pays a well-deserved tribute to those who put the needs of others before their own and those who have worked tirelessly to save lives. The lines
Mann mein down itna hai thana… Bina shulk ke niswartha bhaav… Bimaar ko hospital pahunchana perfectly captures the dating and altruism of individuals. The poem also reminds us of times when communities came together.

In one of the episodes of the series
Ruk Jaana Nahi, we see Rajkummar Rao talking to Amarjeet Singh Shetra about his selfless outlook when the second wave peaked. Singh, a school taxi driver with limited financial resources, did all he could and more for those in need. This is his story. and he is our hero.
Watch him share how he converted his school taxi into an oxygen ambulance that has transported many needy COVID19 patients.
The story of Javed Khan, a rickshaw driver from Bhopal who turned his three-wheeler into a makeshift ambulance, is no less moving. Much like Amarjeet Singh Shetra, Javed also had a passion to help and couldn’t stand the sight of COVID19 patient attendants running desperately from hospital to hospital for treatment. Enthusiastic about helping others in need, Javed Khan took charge and transformed his autorickshaw. He added essential drugs and an oxygen cylinder and started dropping off COVID19 patients in hospitals for free.
The COVID19 pandemic has made us see different shades of humanity where we have seen people from all walks of life come forward to help each other. There are countless stories like those of Amarjeet Singh Shetra and Javed Khan that promise to fill your heart with hope.
