1. Branding

Drake’s OVO label, which stands for “October’s Very Own,” was inspired by his October 24 birthday. It also symbolizes his annual performance at OVO Fest, OVO Sound Radio, a fashion brand, and ties to the Toronto Raptors, in addition to being his music company.

This line’s view of Drake’s credibility due to his popularity and success may seem arrogant. But what does it say about how we often fail to ask “why?” on things that are widely accepted as the status quo is okay.

It’s easy to stick to the way things have always been done, especially when it comes to problems or obstacles. Better procedures and solutions can be discovered by stepping back and asking questions. Or it will just confirm that the existing method is the best and that things are the way they are for a reason.

5. User experience and engagement

Drake wouldn’t have amassed what he does if he made complex or unrelated music.

Any designer would tell you that simplicity and clarity are key. When consumers look at a poster or check out a new app, the time they have to stay engaged is really limited. People have short attention spans and have little patience for designs that don’t immediately capture them, especially in today’s fast-paced environment. That’s why high-quality user adoption, engagement, and retention designs and tactics are just as vital as the final product design.
